Air Filter Replacement for MX960 by Juniper Networks

CAUTION: Do not operate for more than a few minutes without the air filter in place. CAUTION: Always keep the air filter in place during operation, except during replacement. Powerful fans can draw small bits of cables or other materials into the equipment through the unfiltered air intake, potentially damaging components. To remove the standard capacity air filter drawer, follow these steps: 1. Attach an ESD grounding wrist strap to your bare wrist and connect the other end to an ESD grounding point. 2. Disconnect all cables from the standard cable manager and remove them from the tray. Organize the cables so they do not block the front of the cable manager and tray, and secure them temporarily to prevent them from supporting their own weight when reattached to the connector. It is not necessary to remove cables from the extended cable manager to access the air filter. CAUTION: Do not let the optical fiber cable hang freely from the connector. Avoid entangling loose cable loops, which can cause them to break at the connection point. CAUTION: Do not operate the router for more than two minutes without the air filter in place.

• Remove Normal Air Filter Tray: Extract the standard air filter tray
• Remove High-Capacity Air Filter Tray: Dismantle the high-capacity air filter tray
• Install Air Filter in Air Filter Tray: Place the air filter into the air filter tray
• Install Air Filter Tray in Chassis: Mount the air filter tray into the chassis
• Lower Cable Manager to Lower Position: Lower the cable manager to its lowest position
• Reorganize Cables in Cable Manager: Restructure the cables within the cable manager
